What could it have been...

Playing chess in the Senate:
Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff today announced independent Senator Lillian Dyck has joined the Liberal caucus.

“I am delighted to welcome Senator Dyck to the Liberal team,” said Mr. Ignatieff. “Senator Dyck’s wealth of talent and experience in the Canadian scientific field makes her a tremendous asset to our caucus.”

For the past four years Senator Dyck has been a champion of Aboriginal issues in the Senate,” added Liberal Opposition Leader in the Senate Jim Cowan. “She has worked tirelessly to promote the role of women in science and to raise awareness about mental health issues. We are very pleased to have her as a member of the Liberal Party.” (emphasis added)
I remember when someone else used to play chess.  Harper's trying to catch up in the Senate. It just got that much harder.

A champion of aboriginal issues, hey? Now what might have happened in the last month or so that would cause her to join the Liberal caucus? What ever could it be...
