Updated (5:55 p.m.) below.
What...did you think this was finished? There will be lots more to tell before this tale ends.
Can't resist, it's Friday after alll...two of my blogging faves, for all the material they provide, sport their party colours, inappropriately, at government announcements in less scrutinized times.
Lisa Raitt steps in it again by wearing a Conservative logo on a hockey jersey at a government funding announcement. This must be like the Conservative trifecta, money, hockey and the Conservative logo all wrapped into one photo-op. Too bad it's a flagrant violation of the rules:
And here's friend Dean Del Mastro:
Let's just sum up with the admonishment from Johnny-come-lately-head office (aka "the PMO") the other day: “Among other things, this means that the Conservative Party logo and wordmark are not to be incorporated into Government announcements."
Too bad these guys don't follow the rules in the first instance...what else will we be finding in months to come?
Update (5:55 p.m.): And for those just signing on to the internets this early evening, if you missed it, check out FarAndWide's post today.
Update (8:50 p.m.): Dean Del Mastro had this quite irrelevant thing to say this week about the big cheque flap:
Del Mastro said he has never presented a personalized cheque or one displaying the party logo to the Peterborough riding. He didn't have a logo on his cheque but it was certainly present for branding and advertising purposes at the event. Dean, Dean, Dean...please see belated instruction from head office, above. (h/t brucehead on Twitter)
"I've never used a big cheque for any of my announcements, ever," he said. "I think it's an isolated incident and I think it should stop at that.
