Good news for Toronto taxpayers
Looks like holding off on those votes to raise taxes at City Council recently might just pay off, at least in part: "Premier, mayor moving toward truce." It is rumoured that McGuinty will "upload" some of the social program costs Toronto was made to take on when Harris created the mega-city and downloaded them a number of years ago. The problem is set to be addressed by McGuinty in a few weeks time...this is welcome news for Toronto taxpayers whose property taxes have skyrocketed in recent years. While it is suggested this will not solve the entire extent of Toronto's budgetary shortfall, it's a good start to be applauded. Here's hoping it comes through.
